    What Is Disco?

Disco came out of New York clubs in the early 1970s, with mostly Black, Latino and gay crowds. It made the steady 4/4 kick and the all-night DJ set standard. House grew directly out of it.

    The Indian Scene

Hindi film music had a disco era in the late 1970s and 1980s, led by Bappi Lahiri's soundtracks. Cats Can Dance nights in Bengaluru play disco.
