The Origin Story
After the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, empty buildings in the old East became clubs. Tresor opened in 1991 in a vault under a former department store. Berghain opened in 2004 in a former power station. Berlin techno tends to be harder and darker than Detroit's, and clubs often run through the weekend.
